In-port forwarding of containerized and bulk cargoes
In-port services are provided at all main terminals of the Big Sea Port St-Petersburg. “Trans-Business” is the only company in St-Petersburg that runs offices at all major points of container and bulk cargo transhipment in this port.
Our cooperation with all the largest container and ferry lines present in the Northwest region, based on long-term contractual relations, allows us to handle all jobs with an invariably high degree of quality.
Many years of in-port forwarding experience, and established business connections, allow us to perform a full range of sea, overland and multimodal transportations services:
- Data access and analysis of information for cargo’s expected time of arrival;
- Selection of the best terminal for handling the cargo;
- Coordination with the port authorities and acquisition of permissions from the controlling bodies for the transhipment and storage of hazardous, heavyweight and oversize cargoes;
- Execution of all in-port and in-terminal documentation;
- Loading/unloading services, including separation, adjustment, palleting, packaging/unpackaging, and reloading to adjacent transport;
- Surveyor's services;
- Inspection and weighing services on request from the controlling bodies, and on the consignee's request;
- Storage of perishable goods at the refrigerated warehouses on the grounds of the Big Port of Saint-Petersburg;
- Accumulation of goods at the port terminals for export dispatch;
- Acquisition of export permits from vessel/line agents;
- Reception of cargo from the terminals;
- Dispatch coordination;
- Receipt, verification, and payment of invoices issued by terminals for services and excess storage (after confirmation from the consignee);
- Development and implementation of personal reloading and intra-port cargo handling technologies based on the customer's requirements.
Motor transport forwarding
Trucking is the most convenient and cost-effective mode of cargo transportation.
At all times, our staff maintains constant, strict control over movement of cargo, and can provide clients with detailed information on cargo location.
Our wide range of services related to cargo forwarding allows us to provide tailor-made solutions for every customer:
- Various trucking: intra-customs transit, non-customs mode, local, intercity, long-distance (over 2,000 km);
- Transportation of a wide range of cargo: hazardous (all classes except 7), oversized, tank-containers, perishable;
- Customs control deliveries under our own transportation company, "Trans-Business North-West," included into the State Register of Customs Carriers with over 500 trucks operating under the license;
- Use of subcontracted trucking companies with insured liability; companies that have cooperated with us for more than 5 years;
- Armed guards throughout the delivery route (upon customer request);
- Execution of all the necessary accompanying shipping documents: bills of lading CMR, TIR carnets;
- Use of up-to-date sealing technologies and equipment to prevent unauthorized access to cargo during transportation;
- Arrangement of optimal transportation routes (inclusive of safety issues);
- Tracking of vehicle location throughout the transportation process;
- Return of empty containers after cargo has been delivered to the consignee's warehouse.
- Mobile satellite communication with drivers.
Railway Transportation
Since the beginning of our forwarding operations, "Trans-Business Broker" has been providing a full range of railway transportation services related to containerized cargoes, under a number of different transportation regimes (intra-customs transit, cargo customs declaration, transit).
Our employees in charge of railway dispatches are highly skilled professionals, each with more than 10 years' experience in this area.
Currently, our company has an agreement with the “Oktyabrskaya Railway” for the settlement of railway charges and bills for additional services. We also have contracts with other major railway forwarders.
For the main routes of containerized cargo traffic, we provide supervisory control of the loaded containers and line container equipment, guaranteeing their return after delivery has been made.
Our company can also handle containerized cargo, including reloading to the railroad cars.
Door to door transportation
- We have an extensive base of sea line carriers and international forwarding companies (over 150);
- Optimised delivery routes and methods, in terms of price and transit time;
- Organization of cargo delivery to the port of dispatch, using the services of local forwarding companies;
- Direct contact with line agents at large ports of dispatch;
- Cargo monitoring throughout the transportation process including the use of the sea lines tracking system;
- Leasing of containers (including special equipment Open Top, Flat Rack, Reefer, etc.);
- Organizing transportation of perishable, oversized, and hazardous cargo.
Cargo insurance
- All cargo transported under contracts with our company is automatically covered by the General Insurance Policy. Therefore there is no need for the cargo-holder to insure the cargo himself and waste additional resources.
- Cargo insurance is done within the general policy of Trans Business Broker, which significantly simplifies and speeds up insurance processes.
- In the case of an insured accident, the insurance company compensates the losses directly to the account of the cargo owner, making the compensation procedure faster and more flexible.
- We provide insurance for a wide range of cargo types, for all types of transport involved in multimodal transportation, and for all the stages of through shipment on a door-to-door basis.
All cargoes forwarded by the company "Trans-Business” are insured by “Russkyi Mir Insurance Company Ltd” under the General Cargo Insurance Policy with limit of liability for one insured event at USD 700 000.
Customs Broker Services
“Trans-Business Broker” was one of the first companies in the Russian Federation to comply with requirements of the Customs Code, which came into effect on 01 January 2004. It was included into the State Register of Customs Brokers under certificate number 0009/00.
We provide consultation on any issues regarding the customs clearance procedure and foreign trade activities in Russian Federation. Experts from our company will be able to provide advice on:
- Customs legislation;
- Preparation of transportation documents and documents required for customs clearance;
- Provisional payments;
- Drawing up the import/export contracts;
- Custom duties;
- Acquisition of additional special permits;
- Reduction of customs tariffs
As a customs broker we provide customs clearance of goods and vehicles and other related services:
- Preliminary analysis and advice on any documents required for the customs clearance;
- Monitoring of passing prices and customs payments (customs logistics);
- Customs clearance for a wide range of TN VED items (Nomenclature of Goods for Foreign Economic Activity), containerized and non-containerized cargoes (vessel consignment lots), and cargoes arriving by road and rail;
